to wards neighbours,

Duties towards their ancestors (Offering Shradha,)

Duties towards their descendants,
4-
Duties towards all living beings lower than human species, (Plants,
animals, elements etc.)
5-
Duties towards Higher species or phenomena, that is Divine
Forces Gods, Highly evolved Saints etc.

The
Hindu concept of Society
is thus ORGANIC, and it is not limited by space or time.

Hindu
Ideals make it clear that there is one universal purpose
running through all creation namely the return of the
divided spirit to its original wholeness.

From
matter to life, from life to consciousness, from the
consciousness of animals to the self-consciousness of man,
and self-consciousness of man to the universal
consciousness of God. This is the Hindu ideal of the
spiritual evolution.

Hindu
thinkers looked upon all progress seen in the order of
creation. That is, it has to be judged according to the
degree of the conquest of the spirit over mater.
Thus the Hindu thinkers were never carried away by the
material prosperity or scientific skill of power of
organization of their contemporary civilizations.

The
four Ashrams with their progressive
freedom and emancipation
of the spirit correspond to the four varnas, the
four Yugas, and
the four Purushardhas.

The
Upanishads clearly assert that the human Spirit is
ESSENTIALLY DIVINE and should ultimately be FREE.

All
progress is progress from the outer to the inner. This is
always measured in terms of the supremacy of the spirit
over the matter , supremacy of knowledge over
ignorance, and supremacy of freedom over bondage.

With
the body, with the mind, with the understanding and with
the senses
alone , men of SELFLESS ACTIONS do their work without
any attachment. This leads to the purification of their
souls
