   Varsham tad Bharatham nama

   Bharati yatra santatih.”

MEANING:  
The Country that lies north of the ocean( that is Indian ocean) and the south of the snowy mountains9Himalayas,) is called BHARAT; for there dwell the descendants of Bharat.”
